    Having the original SSS on LP (autographed by Gary Owens!) I was delighted to get the CD version (which, for some reason, is missing two bits from the original: "Mom's Munitions" and "Thnaks!"). Still, it's a great way to remember G.O. and his ability to say the silliest things with a voice of authority.

    Gary Owens as always is great with his delivery & that voice, I'm quite happy with the purchase, but, I think an awful lot of the stuff is just repetitious & some of it could perhaps have had some sort of musical bed behind it, (which is what I am doing to some of them).

    Long before Leslie Nielsen started playing comedic movie and television roles, reading absurdly funny lines deadpan ... there was Gary Owens.

    These are also absurdly funny, just like the man himself was. And he reads every one as if it were a serious pitch for a real business.

    And of course, there was that VOICE. The one so many of us heard on Laugh-In back in the 1960s. (And G.O. was as deadpan reading those dropins as he is here.)

    I was fortunate to know this wonderfully silly man the last several years of his life and I can tell you he enjoyed recording these every bit as much as you will enjoy zeeblefetzering them.

    So buy this. Now. Before the krelbs surcharge increases.
